Mom was the second of six Irish Catholic children born to Bryan William and Mary Veronica Joyce Cobb. She was sister to Bryan Michael, Ramon Gerhard, Hubert Francis, Ave Maria, and Charlotte Cecilia all of St. Louis, Missouri and beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt, and friend. Mom married WW II serviceman Ivan John "Jr" McFerran Bollinger at Fort Walton, Florida on August 21, 1946. After he left the service they lived in St. Louis, Missouri where they were blessed with five children: Cheryl Anita, Jay David, Dianne Joyce, Phillip Gerard, and Paul Elliotte. In 1960, they moved to Kansas City, Kansas to join the family business West Haven Motel and Restaurant owned by family members Ed and Inez Akers Peterson. Her maternal grandparents were Michael Frank Joyce of Cork County, Ireland and Charlotte Kirkland of St. Louis, Missouri whose parents were also from Ireland. Her paternal grandparents were William Franklin Cobb of Bollinger County, Missouri and Mary 'Mollie' Phelps of Illinois.
A precious one from our house-
hold is gone, A voice we
loved is stilled, A place
is vacant in our hearts,
Which never can be filled.

Perhaps you weren't ready yet to say good-bye…Perhaps you've thought of things you wish you'd said….well so have I. For one thing, I would have told you not to worry about me…I'm with the Lord in Heaven now; you knew that's where I'd be. I'm sorry that you're feeling sad, for I am so happy now…I've asked the Lord to ease the hurt and comfort you somehow. It's hard in the beginning, but I know you'll make it through. I hope it helps to know that I'll be waiting here for you.
