Uncle Mike was the first of six children born to Bryan William and Mary 'Mayme' Veronica Joyce Cobb. He was brother to June Mary, Ramon Gerhard, Hubert Francis, Ave Maria, and Charlotte Cecilia. He was a Veteran of WWII and proudly served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Air Corps from 1942-1945. While stationed in England, he met and married Maureen May Monks in Chatham, Kent, England on June 9, 1945. They were soon blessed with their first child, Michael Bryan, also born in England. After returning to the states, they returned to Bryan's hometown in St. Louis, Missouri. They then were blessed with five more children: Stephen James, Patrick William, Ramon Francis, Mary Elizabeth, and Alan Walter. Maternal grandparents were Michael Frank Joyce and Charlotte Kirkland. Paternal grandparents were William Franklin Cobb and Mary "Mollie" Phelps.
