Mrs. Geneva Kyzer, 71, of Pelion, wife of Alton E. Kyzer, died Wednesday at her residence. She was born in Lexington County, a daughter of the late D. Jeremiah and Mary Lavinia Shealy Shumpert. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of Pelion. Surviving are three sons, Watson Kyzer of Ocala, Fla., Erskine Kyzer of Winnsboro, Marion Kyzer of Miami, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Tillman (Lavalia) Backman of Lexington; Mrs. James (Ester) Crumpton of South Congaree; Mrs. Vontay Steele of Anaheim, Calif.; six brothers, George S. Shumper of Pelion, J. Knowlton Shumpert of North, Owens B., Tyson, and Barron B. Shumpert of West Columbia and D. J. Shumpert of Lexington. Services for Mrs. Geneva Shumpert Kyzer will be 11 a.m. today in Bethel United Methodist Church, with burial in Southland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Wesley Backman, the Rev. Clayton Shumpert, Glenn Shumpert, Buford Shumpert, Leonard Wise nad Crawford Crumpton. Mrs. Kyzer, 71, of Rt. 1, Pelion, died Wednesday.
