Anaheim, Calif. - Mrs. Vontay Shumpert Steele, 75, died Friday. She was born in Lexington County, S.C. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Andrena Steele Garland of Anaheim; a son, Jerry L. Steele of Lexington, S.C.; sisters, Mrs. Levella Backman of Lexington and Mrs. Ester Crumpton of West Columia, S.C.; and brothers, Baron B. Shumpert of Cayce, S.C., and Tyson Shumpert of West Columbia. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Grace Baptist Church, with burial in Southland Memorial Gardens.
