Mrs. James Riley, Sr., who had been ailing for the past two years, and who had been confined to her bed most of the time since last fall, passed away early Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital in Ashland, where she had been taken the day previous. Death was caused by a complication of diseases.
Mary Ann Nelson was born at Fairchild, Wisconsin, June 9, 1881, and on October 20, 1898 she was united in marriage with James Riley at Eau Claire. The family moved to this city [Park Falls, WI] in 1919, and during her years of residence here, she gained the friendship and admiration of all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning from St. Anthony's Catholic church, where the requiem mass will be read by Rev. Father Lesch. Interment will be made in Nola Cemetery.
Immediate surviving relatives include her husband and the following sons and daughters: Raymond, Los Angeles; Jack, Ypsilanbti, MI; Mrs. Milt [Dorothy] Herman, Monroe, MI; Mrs. William Murray, Milwaukee; Mrs. V.P. [Frances] Kelsey, Des Plaines, IL; James, Jr., Park Falls [WI]; Kenneth, Madison [WI]. a son, Leonard, preceded her in death twelve years ago. Other relatives include the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. E. Duby, Mrs. Emma Crave, Mrs. Viva Watson, Fairchild [WI], Mrs. M. Lectka, Middleville, MI; Oscar and H. Nelson, Fairchild; George and Nels Nelson, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. There are also nine grandchildren
