A Bio for Juanita Waldrip Faught by Lynn Waldrip her niece Lynn Waldrip:
Juanita Waldrip, only daughter of Georgia Dean and Joel Waldrip. Born the 8th child of 9 she shared a fact with 2 of her brothers, George and Hal, the 3 of them were never given middle names. Born in 1913, she was 16 years younger than her oldest brother, Dean, born in 1897. Her youngest brother, Lamar was born in 1916. Her mother told the story that after giving birth to 7 boys, when Junaita was born, after being told it was a girl, she told them they had better take another look. She said she was sure they were mistaken. 4 March 1934, at age 21 she wed Avis Palmer. He was a 1st generation in his family born in the US, his parents came from Ireland. They had 4 children Annelle, Emogene, Teresa and Joel before divorcing sometime in before 1955. My dad, George told me that Avis was a good man, but he had trouble keeping a job because of a drinking problem. He died in 1972. Sometime after she her divorce from Avis, she met the love of her life, Thomas Faught. Thomas was the a farmer, cotton gen owner and the Mayor of Bright, Tennessee for many years. He had one daughter, Brenda by a previous marriage. They were happily married until death claimed Thomas in 2001 and still living on their farm in Brighten, Tennessee. She was a sweet, special lady, we miss her and Uncle Thomas at our family reunions.
