She was born March 31, 1936 in Jasonville, Ind., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Barley.
She married Mathew Caruth in Notre Dame, Ind., on Jan 20, 1954.
Survivors include her husband, Mathew DeKalb, one son, Mathew IV, Fort Hood, Texas, one daughter, Isabella, DeKalb, her mother, Mrs. Frances Grontkowski, South Bend, Ind.,; one sister Betty Ellis, South Bend, Ind., several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers, one sister.
Funeral services will be at the Ronan-Moore Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Cremation will follow.
