She was born on November 30, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Sybil (Sampson) Lawson.
A homemaker, she spent most of her life raising children. Besides raising her own children, Betty helped raise her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She was a dedicated wife who loved and cared for husband for 58 years. Betty was also a devoted Christian and attended Herndon Freewill Baptist Church. She spent her later years enjoying the company of her grandchildren and her church family.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Lawrence Goad; devoted son, Dennis Goad; a brother, Arnold Lawson; and sisters, Glenda Lawson, Phyllis Williams, Jeanette Compton, and Vickie Sizemore.
Burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
