Wallace V. Olson died Friday, Feb. 1, in Grass Valley, CA. at the age of 70. 'Wally' was born Feb. 14, 1931, in Lake Preston, S.D., to John and Teressa (Jensen) Olson. He attended Lake Preston High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He married Doris Krenz on Feb. 5, 1952. They later moved to Grass Valley. Mr. Olson worked as a carpenter for more than 40 years and was a member of Carpenters Union Local 46. He was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Olson of Grass Valley. They had 5 children: Darwin, Geraldine, Dorene, Donald, & Dale. He is also survived by brothers Robert Olson Orville Olson, and Hubert Jensen; sisters Ruby Lowe, Charlotte Smith and Muriel Warner, a sister-in-law, Lillian Olson, and seven grandchildren, Joseph, Samuel, Gregory, Elizabeth, David, Hanna, Mary.
