ST GEORGE, UT. - Margaret McDonald, 90, left Dec. 26th for a better place. She passed in her home surrounded by her family. She was born Aug 18, 1916 in Holladay, Utah. She is the daughter of L.H. Brockbank and Nina Atwood, and step daughter of Miriam Brockbank. She received her education in Salt Lake City except for a two year stint at Chinard Art School in Los Angeles. Margaret married B. Wellington McDonald - the love of her life - Sept. 14, 1938 in Holladay, UT. They enjoyed 63 years of a truly blessed marriage. They were sealed in the St. George Temple in 1996.

During her life she served for 5 years as a driver for the blind; during WWII she drove for the Red Cross Blood Bank; she served as President of the P.T.A. at Wasatch Primary School, Bryant Jr. High and East High. She taught Girl Scouts and Brownie Scouts at St. Marks Cathedral. She was Ladies President of the Salt Lake Jr. Chamber of Commerce; an auxiliary member of the League of Women Voters; Secretary of the University of Utah Mothers Club; Board member of the University Hospital, the Ft. Douglas Club, the Chamber of Commerce and the Women's Golf Assn; Sigma Nu Mothers Club; and as a Pink Lady at University of Utah Hospital.

Margaret and Wellington were recipients of the Distinguished Service Award at Dixie College Founders Day in 1993.

Margaret is survived by her children Kam Capik (Mike) of Highland, Utah. and Dr. Blair McDonald (Ann) of Seabrook TX; Her Grandchildren Brittany Davis of Austin TX., Kam McDonald of Ventura, CA. and her great-grandchildren Lexi, Sheyanne and Gavin of Austin, TX.
The family is particularly grateful to Southern Utah Home Care and Hospice for their gentle and sincere help, particularly Lynette, Janice and Laura, and to Barbara Jones, LaRae Smith, Cathi Hansen and Daisy Hammon her loving caregivers.

Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 29th 11:00AM, at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT. A Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, Dec. 28th at Metcalf Mortuary. Interment will be at St. George City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret's name to the Tad Warthen Center, for the terminally ill. 2046 Tuweap Drive. St. George Ut. 84770 Ph: 435-656-4855.
