Obituary: Wilfred Bernard Cooling, 91, 321 Morgan street, a lifelong Rockford resident who operated Cooling and Sons upholstery shop at his home for more than 50 years, died at 3:30PM Tuesday following a long illness. Mr. Cooling was born Oct. 12, 1966 in Rockford, son of Thomas and Sarah Jane Cooling. He married Maria Needham in Rockford. She died Dec. 1, 1939. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving at five sons, Marshall, Los Angeles; Clement, Seattle; Lawrence and Wilfred Jr., both of Peoria, and Joseph of Rockford; five daughters, Mrs. Agnes Maurizard, Chicago; Mrs. Theresa Grespan, Mrs. Martha Plum and Clotilde Cooling, all of Rockford and Mrs. Barbara Halsey, Irving, Texas; 25 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are being completed in Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Home, 626 W. Jefferson Street.
