Mrs. Holmes was born in Pearl, MS to the late Johnnie and Lena Boehle Gilmore. Having lived in South Jackson for 45 years she moved to Crystal Springs in 2007 where she was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and an avid bowler who loved being outdoors and traveling. She loved her church and church family and was “Mamaw” to her beloved grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, all her six siblings and her husband, William Lewis “Jack” Holmes. Survivors include her son, Wardell Holmes (Diane) of Crystal Springs; daughter, Beth Hux (Glenn) of Crystal Springs; sister-in-law, Jean Gilmore of Pearl; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren.
