Maria Stein Native Dies in Michigan Hospital Early Sunday

Requiem high mass was offered in St. Peter and Paul church in Newport Wednesday by Father Otto Herrmann for Miss Anna Albers, 65, a native of Maria Stein for many years and resident of Newport, who died in Bon Secours convalescent hospital at Grosse Point, Michigan Sunday morning. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Miss Albers, whose death was attributed to cerebral hemorrhage, had been a hospital patient one day. She went to Detroit, Michigan on August 1 last year to live with friends, going there from Newport near where she had lived with a nephew, Lawrence Hoehne for fifteen years.

Born on March 2, 1880, she was the daughter of August Albers and Elisabeth Ording Deppen Albers of Maria Stein. Her only surviving relative is a brother, Henry of Maria Stein.

Miss Albers is a lifelong member of the Catholic Church, was enrolled in the St. Rose sodality and the St. Peter and St. Paul parish.
