Rites For Widow Of Joseph Huber Are Conducted At Sharpsburg

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Anna Deppen Huber, 77, of Sharpsburg, were held Monday morning at St. Paul's Catholic church in that village. The solemn high mass was officiated by the Reverend Nicholas Greiwe of Sharpsburg, Francis Krull of Burkettsville, and Bernard Schmitt of Celina. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Huber died Friday at the Gibbons hospital at Celina after a lingering illness due to complications of ailments. She was a lifelong Catholic, and died fortified with the sacraments of the Catholic religion. She was a member of the Christian mother's sodality.

Born August 15, 1866 at Maria Stein, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Deppen. She was united in marriage with Joseph Huber at St. Rose in 1887, and he died in 1925.

She was the proud grandmother of five boys in the service of their country: Mark, Walter, and Lawrence Forthofer, Marvin Huber, and Norman Hemmelgarn.

Seven children survive: Mrs. Henry Kaiser, Sharpsburg; Mrs. A. A Forthofer, Sharpsburg; Miss Anna Huber, Avilla, Indiana; Mrs. Alex Hemmelgarn, Leo A. Huber, Burkettsville; Fran Huber, Coldwater; Arthur Huber, Dayton. One son and daughter are dead.

She also had 42 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one half brother, Henry Albers of Maria Stein, and a half sister, Anna Albers of Newport.
