Elizabeth Deppen was born to Joseph Deppen and Elizabeth Ording. Her father died while she was still a toddler and her mother remarried the neighbor on the closest farm, August Albers. Elizabeth became a nun in 1895 in the Sisters of the Precious Blood which had a large convent in her home town, St. John, Maria Stein, Ohio.
Census records indicate she was teaching during her time as a nun.
Unfortunately, I do not have any photos of Sister Maxima.
