Lula Dingus , 70, died Saturday (Sept. 26, 1992) at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.in Scott County, Va., she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mitch and Ellen Babb Dingus ; one daughter, Mary Kate Darnell; and two brothers, William and James Dingus. Surviving are her husband, Morgan Darnell, Big Stone Gap, Va.; three sons, Charles Ray Darnell and Eugene Darnell, both of Fort Blackmore, Va., and Leroy Darnell, Gate City, Va.; two grandchildren; three brothers, George Dingus and Willie Dingus, both of Gate City, Va., and Roy Lee Dingus, Fort Blackmore, Va.; five sisters, Mary Begley and Phoebe Darnell, both of Dungannon, Va., Hazel Carter and Gracie Frazier, both of Fort Blackmore, Va., and Myrtle Laney, Duffield, Va.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Gate City Funeral Home or anytime at the residence of Charles Ray Darnell.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Willie Ashworth and the Rev. Ronald Puckett officiating.
Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be in the Dingus Family Cemetery, Fort Blackmore, Va.
