James Delaney, father of Street Commissioner Delaney of this city, died at 6 o'clock Saturday morning at his home in Niantic, age 69 years. He leaves a wife and eight children: P.W. Delaney of Decatur, T.E. and Mike Delaney of Warrensburg, J.S., James Lawrence, and Jerry Delaney of Niantic, Mrs. J.G. Hagen of Illiopolis, and Mrs.Maggie Muldoon of Niantic.
Mr. Delaney was one of the old settlers of Macon county,having lived in Niantic since 1861.
