Charles Jennings, 83, of Hillsville, Virginia passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the Woltz Hospice Home, Dobson, North Carolina. Mr. Jennings was born July 18, 1934 in Kentucky to the late Press Jennings and Maude Bell Jennings.

He proudly served his country in the US Navy.

He is survived by his daughter Karen Hertel of Easton, Pennsylvania; special friend Karen Rich of Hillsville, Virginia; sister Shelby Jean McLaughlin of Lebanon, Ohio; two grandchildren Daniel Andrew Hertel and Katherine Lynn Barnhill; four great grandchildren Caleb Andrew Hertel, Charlie Jackson Hertel, Noah Robert Barnhill and Gideon James Barnhill.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Lewis Vass officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time.

Burial with military rites will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
