Frances Stallo, 71, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007 in a local hospital.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Merkel First Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Merkel First Baptist Church Family Life Center. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the church.

Frances was born January 7, 1936 in Jones County to Rupert Clarence and Texana Lois Barnett Rhynes. She married Benny Stallo on January 22, 1956. Frances was a member of Merkel First Baptist Church. She worked in childcare for many years and was director of Wylie Baptist Day Care for 14 years. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, quilting, camping and working crossword puzzles. She loved being with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Benny Stallo of Abilene; a daughter, Lynda Testa and husband Lenny of Abilene; a son, Benny Dwayne Stallo and wife Kimberly of Denton; 5 brothers, Henry Rhynes of Garland, Leroy Rhynes, Jimmy Rhynes and wife Lorene, Theldon Rhynes and wife Betty all of Abilene, Ray Rhynes and wife Reba of Baird; 2 sisters, Louise Hallford and husband Edward of Graham, Marie Nelson and husband Gerald of Abilene; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Frank Rhynes.
