Clara Atwood
. Clara Atwood, 91, of Biggsville, Ill., died at 9:35 a.m. Monday, May 12, 1997, at Community Memorial Hospital in Monmouth, Ill.
. Born Oct. 1, 1905, at Titus, she was the daughter of James and Martha Butcher Patterson. She married Clifford Atwood May 24, 1935, in Chicago. He died in 1945.
. She was raised and attended schools in Crawfordsville, where she played on a state basketball team while in high school.
. Mrs. Atwood worked at Cresent Macarony Factory in Davenport for several years, then worked at Strombeck & Beckers Toy Factory in Moline, Ill. She also was a cook for various restaurants in Moline and was last employed at Eastman Kodak in Moline. She was a homemaker and member of Biggaville United Methodist Church and Biggsville Senior Citizens. She loved to sew and do crocheting and handwork.
. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Virginia Hull and Joyce Bielser, both of Biggsville, Ill., Pat Wright of LaHarpe, Ill., Ronald L. Patterson of Alexis, III., Jerome D. Patterson of Lake Zurich, Ill., and Ralph Patterson of Burlington.
. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sederwall Chapel in Biggsville, Ill.
. The graveside committal service for Mrs. Atwood will be 11 a.m. Friday at Biggsville Cemetery, with the Rev. William Morse officiating.
. A memorial has been established for Henderson County Home Health Care.
