ROBERT AUSTIN DIES SUDDENLY
Ruptured Intestine Cause of Death in Hospital. Robert L. Austin, resident of Thayer street, employed in construction work at the Baltimore & Ohio roundhouse here, died in City Hospital at 3 o'clock this afternoon following operation for a ruptured intestine. Struck in the stomach last Tuesday afternoon while helping unload brick from a gondola in the yards, Mr. Austin was carried home in what was thought then to be merely a painful condition with no dangerous aspects. However, on Friday evening he was hurried to the hospital where an incision is said to have revealed development of gangrene. An intestine had been ruptured by the blow from the brick. His condition was known to be very serious this forenoon, a sign on the door to his room in City Hospital advising he be not disturbed. At press time funeral and obituary information was incomplete.
