Mrs. Laura Ella Blackmon, 79 of Atoka, passed away on the morning of September 3, 2017. Mrs. Blackmon was a member of the Brighton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and helped with the office staff.

Mrs. Blackmon is survived by her husband, Hubert Virgil Blackmon of Atoka; her daughters, Sherrie Yarbro (Jeff) of Brighton and Norma Kirby (Ashley) of Brighton; her sister, Mary Blackmon (Gene) of Brighton; her five grandchildren, Tyler Mathis (Lauren), Nik Kirby (Amy), Hannah Goode (Aaron), Nolan Kirby, and Rylee Mathis. Mrs. Blackmon was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Maude Barron; and by three brothers and eight sisters.

There will be a graveside service for Mrs. Blackmon on Thursday, September 7th, at 12:30 PM at Salem Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Blackmon will be held from 10-12 at the Salem A.R.P. Church prior to the graveside.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be sent to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Brighton Baptist Church.
