James L. Adams, 57, Topeka, died Friday, January 4, at a Topeka hospital after an extended illness. He was born September 13, 1922, at Selden, the son of Clarence and Ethel Cox Adams, and lived in Topeka and Oskaloosa most of his life. Mr. Adams worked at Topeka Evergreen Nursery. He was a veteran of World War II. He was married to Marjorie Williams July 9, 1973, at Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary May Biggers, Eudora, and Mrs. Carol Jean Crane, Honolulu, Hawaii; a son Jerry Adams, Lawrence; two stepdaughters, Diana Welcher and Judy Welcher, both of Topeka, a Stepson Bob Welcher, Kansas City; two sisters, Mrs. Adelia Powell, Topeka, and
Mrs. Josephine Coffey, Lawrence; two brothers, Howard Adams, Holton, and Lawrence Adams, Lawrence; six grandchildren, and two great- grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry.
