Lillian Bernice Richards, 96, of Decatur, died August 12, 2017 in Hickory Point Christian Village, Forsyth, IL.
Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 in St. James Church, Decatur, IL, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Assumption, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. James and St. Patrick Parish.
Lillian was born June 29, 1921 in Oak Park, IL, the daughter of Myron and Alma (Brandt) King. She married John T. Richards September 16, 1946 in St. Patrick's Church, Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death.
Lillian attended Roach School, Centennial Junior High School and Stephen Decatur High School. She graduated from Fairmount High School in Fairmount, IL. She met her husband, John, while working at Citizens National Bank in Decatur. They were longtime residents in the Decatur area. Lillian was a homemaker and worked for several years at Kemper Insurance Company. She was a long and active member of St. James' Parish.
Surviving are her daughter; son; sister; brothers; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister.
