Minnie Catherine Shobe, 80, of 20009 Rosebank Way in Hagerstown, and formerly of 11 Atlantic Ave., died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at Atlantic City (N.J.) Medical Center.
Born March 4, 1922, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late John R. and Elsie Irene Dermer Greise Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alvin Shobe, in 1976.
She attended Ursulan Academy in Cumberland.
She and her husband owned and operated Shobe Grocery Store and Snack Bar. She retired from the deli at Town and Country Supermarket on Jefferson Boulevard in Hagerstown.
She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by three daughters, Jayne S. Smith of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., Sharon M. Trovinger of Frostburg, Md., and Cynthia S. Quinn, of Wilmington, Del.; one son, Robert E. Shobe of Clermont, Fla.; five sisters, Elnora Shobe of Winchester, Va., Theresa Edmiston, Vera Yost and Agnes Edmiston, allof Cumberland, and Rosalie Beck of Newark, Ohio; two brothers, Thomas Greise of Wilmington, N.C., and Samuel Greise of Cumberland; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Regina Lechliter; and two brothers, John R. Greise Jr. and Edward Greise.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Michael J. Jendrek will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
