WILLIAM TOPP DIES; FUNERAL SERVICES SET

SILO ROOFER, RETIRED KIEKHAEFER EMPLOYE EXPIRES AT 74

William W. Topp, 74, of 524 S. Park Ave., died Sunday night at St. Agnes Hospital after an extended illness.

Born March 26, 1892, in the Town of Osceola, he was the son of Julius and Bertha Steenberg Topp. He married Hattie E. Wegner June 7, 1916, in Brandon. They had lived in Fond du Lac since their marriage, celebrating their golden wedding anniversary last month. Mr. Topp had his own business in silo roofing and then worked at Kiekhaefer Corp. until his retirement in 1956.

He is survived by the widow, four brothers, Herbert Topp of Fond du Lac, Julius Topp of Crandon, Arnold Topp of Fond du lac and Elmer top of Manitowoc, and one sister, Mrs. Lawrence Wappler of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by an infant son, two brothers, Frank and Harry Topp; and a sister, Mrs. Elsie Schwartz.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, the Rev. Karl Gurgel officiating. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. at Candlish Chapel until 11 a.m. Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the hour of services.

Karl Gurgel will officiate. Mr. Topp resided at 524 S. Park Ave. His name was incorrectly listed by the funeral chapel on Monday.

Funeral services for Walter W. Topp, who died Sunday, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Rev. Karl A. Gurgel officiating. Soloist was Mrs. Milton Kottke and organist was Earl Rolloff. Burial was in Rienzi Cemetery.

Pallbearers were LaVerne Topp, Kenneth Topp, Warren Wappler, Darrell Brechlin, Warren Wegner and Robert Pollock.
