My great-grandmother, Isabelle Putman, was the daughter of Wilson Putman and Elizabeth Wilson Putman. Wilson Putman had been married previously and had a large family when his first wife died. He then married Elizabeth Wilson of Grays Chapel.

She married Robert Tribble Henshaw on August 24, 1882 at the home of Richard Vandiver by Minister of the Gospel, James Langston.

She and Robert had 12 children: George Thomas, Elizabeth Bettye, Martha Ada, Lucy Belle, Emmit Roe, Carrie Ann, Oscar O'Neal, Rosa Mae, James Boyd, Ernest Wann, and Bobbie Ila. Their first child, Mary Jane, died after 9 days.

The Henshaw Cemetery is named after Robert Tribble Henshaw and Isabelle (Putman) Henshaw. They donated land to start the cemetery as a "gift to all their descendants".

The day before Mother's Day each year, there's a "Decoration Day" that takes place to decorate graves of loved ones with flowers. There is also "dinner-on-the-ground" to get together to share food and tell stories to keep the Henshaw family history and legends alive.
