The "Henshaw Cemetery" was donated by Robert Tribble Henshaw and Isabelle (Putman) Henshaw in 1928 when their grandbaby died. In 1928, Boyd, (son of Rob & Belle) and Zella Henshaw had an infant who died and became the first person buried in the cemetery. "A gift to all Rob and Belle's descendants" came into being back then. The gift of "free" burial plots to all their descendants continues to this day and into the future.
Robert Tribble and Isabelle (Putman) Henshaw had 12 children: George Thomas, Elizabeth Bettye, Martha Ada, Lucy Belle, Emmit Roe, Carrie Ann, Oscar O'Neal, Rosa Mae, James Boyd, Ernest Wann, and Bobbie Ila. Their first child, Mary Jane, died after 9 days.
