Loraine M. Davis of San Antonio was called home to be with her heavenly father on April 17, 2017; Loraine was born in Bell County, Texas to Mr. & Mrs. Homer Dykes. She later moved with her family to west Texas, where the family was engaged in farming.

She graduated from Sudan Texas High School at the beginning of World War II and became a civil service worker at Reese Air Force Base, Lubbock Texas, where she first met her husband R.B. David USAF. As with most military persons, her husband was stationed in many different stations throughout the country. Loraine and her husband finally settled in San Antonio, where she was employed by civil service as a dental assistant by the VA Hospital. After retirement in 1983, she served at St. Luke's Hospital as a volunteer and received many awards for her work. Loraine was well respected and loved by her friends and associates. After her husband's death, Loraine took up living at Patriot Heights Senior Living in San Antonio. She became known as the lady with fancy dress and hair do.

Loraine is survived by her brothers Cecil Dykes & wife Delphine of New Braunfels, and Willard Dykes & wife Bethene of Boise, Idaho, Friends Jeanann & Chuck Crouch, their God children Mindy & Matt Crouch. Also her brother-in-law Brentz Davis of Gatesville, Texas and loved by numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Friday, April 21, 2017 Chapel Service to begin at 3:00 pm with Entombment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
