Edna Finley Condrey, 81, of Marion, died Thursday, August 16, 2001 at her residence.

Born in McDowell County to the late Sid and Hessie Hollifield Finley, she was retired from Glenwood School and was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James William Condrey; brother, Albert Leon Finley; sister, Irene Davis; and grandson, Jake Simmons.

Survivors include a son, Jim Condrey and wife, Susan, of Glenwood; two daughters: Melinda Simmons, and husband, Richard, of Nebo, and Susie Condrey, of Glenwood; four brothers: Paul, Earl, and Sewell Finley, all of Nebo, and Roy Finley, of Marion; two sisters: Inez Kirkpatrick, and Edith Elliott, both of Nebo; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2001 at Glenwood Baptist Church. The Rev. Jim Brewer officiated and burial was in Glenwood Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of McDowell County 218 Logan St. Marion, NC 28752 or Glenwood Baptist Church Bldg. Fund Box 218 Glenwood, NC 28737. Westmoreland Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
