Gladys Pauline Eans, age 89, of Fayetteville, passed away at home on Sunday, May 7, 2017.

She was born on July 10, 1927, in Combs, Arkansas, to William H. and Nora J. (Shipp) Thornsberry.

She and her husband knew how to nurture plants and trees and they shared produce with friends and family. Pauline was the organizer of the family picnics. She knew all about the stars of the silver screen and country musicians. Her favorite activities included fishing, travel, and playing with the neighborhood children in her younger years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Clarence H. Eans; three brothers, Irvin, Clarence, and John Thornsberry; and four sisters, Ida, Myrtle, Celia, and Alice.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Shirley Durning (and husband, Jerry) of Fayetteville; one sister, Wilma Carney of Fayetteville; six nieces; and five nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

A private burial in Fairview Memorial Gardens will be held at another date.
