John J. Ritz, 59, of 2501 South Grand Ave. E. was killed at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1964, by a car at Taylor Street and South Grand Avenue.
He was born in Chatham, the son of John Jacob and Emma Burge Ritz.
He had been a resident of Springfield for 45 years.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Shellinger [sic] of Hammond, Ind.; Mrs. Lela Blissett of Springfield and Mrs. Ruth Harbour of Chatham; two brothers, Dodd Ritz and Chester Ritz, both of Springfield.
Services were at the Staab Funeral Home.
Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
