Brelia Orella Bowden, 84, died April 12, 1989 at Lost Rivers Hospital followihg a stroke.

She was born April 5, 1905, at Bramwell to Wiliam Joseph and Mary Ann Phoebe Wheeler Orchard. She attended schools in Payette and Burley.

She married Clifford Stokes Bowdon on September 6, 1922, in Salt Lake City. This marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple Jan. 18, 1935.

She was a cook for the Butte County School District for 13 years, then worked as a housekeeper and cook for the Lost Rivers Hospital for seven years.

She was an active member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include five sons, Darwin Bowden of Moore; O. Deen Bowden of Salt Lake City, Spence Bowden of Ogden, Utah, Dale Bowden of Castro Valley, California, and Joseph Bowden of Layton, Utah; two daughters, Janet Shirley of Lafayette, Oregon, and Kaye Hope of Idaho Falls; 49 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and seven sisters.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the Moore Stake Center by Bishop Merlin Waddoups. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Arco under the direction of Marvel Memorial Chapel.
