MONTPELIER, Ida.--Joseph H. Orchard, 75, well-known farmer, died Friday at his home in Montpelier canyon after a 3-month illness.
Mr. Orchard, who came to Montpelier in 1894, was born April 25, 1869, in East Weber county, Utah. On July 10, 1896, he married Catherine Young and they have lived since on their canyon ranch.
Surviving besides his widow are 8 daughters and sons, Mrs. Lillian Closner, Mrs. Clarissa Anderson and Jesse Orchard, Montpelier; Joe Orchard, Mrs. Mabel Murphy and Elwood Orchard, Pocatello; James D. Orchard, Granger, Wyo., and Mrs. Kathryn Van Orman, Rifle, Colo.; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild; a brother, France (sic) Orchard, Tooele, Utah, and several half brothers and half sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Third ward chapel.
