Arthur T. Eckenrode Owned Eckenrode's Garage
Dover-- Arthur T. "Tom" Eckenrode, 58, of Dover, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He was the husband of Ruthanna M. (Kroft) Eckenrode. The service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Eckenrode was born Jan. 5, 1939, in York. He was the son of the late Clarence and Katherine I. (Scantling) Eckenrode. He owned Eckenrode's Garage in Dover for 10 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Ambassador's Bible Chapel in York Haven and Dover Fish and Game Club.
Mr. Eckenrode also is survived by two sons, Roy E. Eckenrode of Dover and Thomas R. Eckenrode of Selinsgrove; three daughters, Sidney L. Trimmer and Betty J. Eckenrode, both of Dover, and Wanda M. Chilcoat of York; six grandchildren; a brother, Charles Eckenrode Sr. of York; and two sisters, Geraldine Swords of Glen Rock and Violet Snelbaker of Manchester. Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Richard A. Stambaugh. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 2997 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion 17356; or to American Diabetes Association, 5020 Ritter Road, Mechanicsburg 17055.
