Catherine L. Dickerson was called to eternal rest on Sunday, November 20, 2016. She was born on December 23, 1933, the daughter of the late King and Rosezelia Roberts, in James City County, Virginia. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Charles A. Dickerson, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Minister Karen Wells, Mary Wright, Charles Dickerson, Jr., LaFrancis Lurry and Viola Mitchell (Charles, Jr.), all of Williamsburg, Virginia and Elder Randy Dickerson, Sr. (Verna), of Ellenwood, Georgia; her sister, Amanda Roberts, of Williamsburg; her brothers, Elder Carl R. Roberts, of Toano and Deacon William Leroy Roberts, of Newport News; her sisters-in-law, Lillian Roberts, Mary Johnson and Katherine Johnson; her brother-in-law, Mack H. Banks; her ten grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring friends.
There will be a viewing only on Saturday, November 26, 2016, in Little Zion Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m., followed by a Homegoing service for Mrs. Dickerson beginning at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Linwood Gating officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Professional service entrusted to the staff of Whiting’s Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, Virginia.
