Jimmie O'Neal Agnew 70 was born June 6, 1946 in Guntown, MS to the late Lee Wison and Della Mae Davis Agnew. He died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Bethel C.M.E. Church, where he served as a Trustee and chairperson of the Steward Ministry. He graduated from Lee-Prentiss High School in 1967. He earned his Bachelor of Sicence Degree from Mississippi Industrial College in Holly Spring, MS, and earned the Juris Doctor Degree from Southern University in Baton, Rogue, LA. He taught school at Bruce and Mantachie High School. and later work at North Mississippi Rural Legal Services and the Catledge Law firm. He was a member of NAACP and various other civic organizations. He married Lucille Brown Hudson in 1970.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Lucille Agnew; two daughters, Angeleque Beene (Darrell) of Baldwyn, MS and Natasha Agnew of Guntown, MS; seven grandchildren; sister, Brenda Agnew of Baldwyn, MS and brother, William C. Agnew (Earsie). He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Visitation is from 2-6 and family hour 6-7 Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 2:00P.M. at Mt. Zion Community Church in Guntown, MS with Rev. Charles Penson delivering the eulogy and Rev. J. S. Agnew officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel cemetery.
