GUNTOWN – Rev. Annie M. Agnew Whitmore, 60, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at her home in Guntown. She was born June 7, 1950, to Lee Wilson and Della Mae Davis Agnew. She was a member of Bethel C.M.E. Church in Guntown and the pastor of Morgan Chapel C.M.E. Church in Aberdeen She was a 1968 graduate of Lee-Prentiss High School in Baldwyn and received a Bachelors Degree in English from Mississippi Industrial College in Holly Springs in 1973. She retired from Daybrite Lighting Co. after thirty-two years of service.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mt. Zion Community Church in Guntown with Bishop Thomas L. Brown Sr. delivering the eulogy and Elder Leo Wright officiating. Bro. J.S. Agnew is the host pastor. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Guntown. Agnew & Sons Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Lesha M. Agnew (Raymond Hampton) and Andrea Cobbs (Frederick), both of Guntown; four grandchildren, Austin, Michael, Alyssa and Adrian, all of Guntown; two brothers, William C. Agnew (Earsie) and Jimmie Agnew (Lucille), both of Baldwyn; one sister, Brenda Agnew of Baldwyn; two sisters-in-law, Lottie A. Agnew and Luedella Agnew, both of Baldwyn; and one aunt, Audra Allsop of Long Beach, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Bobby C. Agnew, Carl C. Agnew, Thomas L. Agnew and Charlie C. Agnew; and two sisters, Willie Lou Agnew and Emma Rene Agnew.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today and family hour will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service Monday.
