John Anderson, son of Hans and Ingeborg Anderson, was born July 7, 1871, at Adams, where he spent his childhood days and grew to manhood. He was baptized and confirmed in Little Cedar church. On January 1, 1894, he was married to Christine Huseby. This union was blessed with seven children, all of whom are living.
Mr. Anderson was engaged in farming in Clayton township until 1920 when he purchased a farm near Farwell, at which place he resided until his death.
He wast taken ill the Saturday before Easter Sunday. On Wednesday he was taken to the hospital at Starbuck, where he passed away on Monday, April 5, of pneumonia at the age of 65 years and nine months.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Herbert of Farwell, Arnold of Austin, Joel of Minneapolis; four daughters, Mrs. Selma Skaran and Mrs. Will Gomer of Farwell, Mrs. Le Verne Fox of Washington, D. C., and Adeline of Los Angeles, Calif.; four brothers: Arne, Eddie and Henry of Grand Meadow and Carl of Marian, N. D.; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Knutson of Hettinger, N. C., Mrs. Gus Carlson and Mary of Northfield. Two sisters preceded him in death, Mrs. Sever Rogne and Mrs. John Larson of Marian, N. D.
Funeral services were held at his home and at the church where he was a member in Farwell Thursday afternoon. On Friday he was taken to Adams where funeral services were conducted at Little Cedar Lutheran church for his many friends and relatives here. He was laid to rest in the Little Cedar Cemetery.
Many memorial wreaths were given by his relatives and friends as a token of esteem and respect to a well-loved man.
Mr. Anderson was an (?) farmer and an active member of various organizations beneficial to the welfare of his community.
Pallbearers were his nephews, three sons of Arne Anderson and three sons of Eddie Anderson of Grand Meadow.
