1. (Black Will Book 2, Pages 148 - 151, 1829-1866, Hardy County Courthouse, Superior Court, West Virginia): "An Inventory of the ... Estate of Parmeneus Orndorf deceased made by ... as the administrator thereof on the 4th day of MAY 1849 for the appraisers ... to the value of the several items to wit: (long list of items follow)

2. "Hardy County .... We the subscribers pursuance to an order of the Superior Court of Hardy have being sworn before a justice of the law for the purpose truly and justly to the best of our judgments viewed and appraised all the personal estate of the said Parmeneus Orndorff deceased produced to us by John Leggett administrator thereof and comprised in the said inventory and we have announced the prices of the several items thereof in the column left for the purpose given under our hands this 4th day of May 1849. W. Clevenger, Hezekiah Clagett, Frances Godlove."

3. "State Circuit Superior Court of .... held for the County of Hardy at the Courthouse thereof on the 21st day of September 1849 this appraisement of the personal estate of Parmeneus Orndorff was returned and ordered to be recorded.... Charles Legget. C. C. "

4. "A sale bill of the personal property of Parmenius Orndorff deceased sold by John Legget the administrator on a credit of ... months on Friday the 4th day of MAY 1849. (A long list of items follows). ... totaling $167.032. At a Circuit Court held for the County of Hardy at the Courthouse thereof on the 21st day of September 1849. This sale bill of the personal property of Parmenius Orndorff was returned and ordered to be recorded. Charles Legget, C.C."
