E Jay Moulton, 90, passed away on September 17, 2016 at his home in Sun City Grand, Surprise, Arizona.
E Jay, known to his friends as "E.J." or "Eddie", was born in Heber City, Utah to Hyrum Chase Moulton and Margaret Lillian Cummings Moulton. He was the 7th of 11 children.
E Jay grew up in Heber City and Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from South High School in 1943. He studied at both the University of Utah and Brigham Young University and ultimately graduated from the US Army Advanced Flying School at Luke Field, Phoenix, Arizona in 1945. E Jay served as a Lieutenant in the Air Corps Army of the United States, as a fighter pilot, flying the North American P-51 Mustang. He was honorably discharged in 1947 and served in the US Air Force Reserve until 1954. E Jay spent his life constructing high-voltage electrical transmission lines across the United States and Canada, initially as an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers' Lineman and later as a Project Superintendent. E Jay married Irma Rosalie Jonsdotter on April 29, 1956 in Las Vegas, Nevada. E Jay's wife, Irma, passed away, October 4, 1981.
E Jay is survived by his son, Ronald Edward Moulton (wife, Linda and son, Ethan) and his daughter Heidi Rosalie Moulton. His surviving siblings include Floyd Chase Moulton, Mardene Folkerson Provost and Dale Elisha Moulton. Those greeting him on the other side are Norma Montgomery, Fern Lillian Chapman, Deaun Weed, Evelyn McDougal, Reva Maxine Owen Webb, Rex C. Moulton, and Duane Moulton.
E Jay's last wishes were to have no memorial service, to be cremated, and to have his ashes spread across the waters of Lake Powell, where he spent many years creating life-long memories with his family and friends.
