He died in Bay City, Michigan. We have not been able to find out why he moved to Bay City, Michigan.
In the June 15, 1900 Census Jacob was living with his Son George and Family in Thetford Township, Genesee, Michigan. He was age 74, a widow, born in NY, Father born in NY, mother born in Connecticut and he could read, write, and speak English.
There was no obituary printed in the local newspaper for him when he died. His occupation when he died was listed as Mill Wright. His son, William Baker Wright, signed the death certificate as next of kin. Jacob was most likely living with his son William at 1212 Broadway, Bay City, Michigan when he died.
His second wife, Caroline Rose Wright, is buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Section 56, Plot 33.
This plot had a pillar type of marker and on each side it listed the four Wright's who are buried on this plot. In 2004 you could just barely trace out John Wright's name on the pillar. In 2010, the pillar had cracked and had fallen over (probably due to the weather).
On this plot is buried:

Buried Lot 49, Section 21
On November 5, 1998, I spoke to Darwin Baranski, Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48601 517-759-1656
He looked up the Lot 49, Section 21 Oakwood Cemetery Records for me. He said that the Oakwood Cemetery was not open for burials until 1868 and the notation (12-3-1869 - removal Marker "Mary") probably means that Mary was buried somewhere else and then she and the marker and the two children were moved to Lot 49, Section 21. He said it was interesting that 7 individuals were listed as buried on this plot but that there were only 4 graves which probably meant that the children could have been buried in the same grave or that when the information was recorded, they were not sure which person was buried in which grave. I asked him if they would correct their records to reflect the correct names of the persons buried on this plot and he said "no" because these cards were legal records and could not be changed.
He did tell me that in 1932 or 1933 the Saginaw County Hall had a fire and all old records were destroyed which may explain some discrepancies in the dates.
He said that we could buy a double marker to put on this plot. The stone would be granite and would sit flush in the ground. On this marker we could list the names and dates of all seven individuals buried on this plot. The cost would be $716.00 which would include the taxes, inscription, and the setting. He also said that they would leave Mary's stone in place and clean it for us.
As to the child that died and was re-buried (we have not been able to locate the name of this child but we wanted his/her name on the marker. As to the re-buried citation, please note:
As to the cemetery where the Wrights were moved from. It was over on the west side, south of Court street. I'll look up the exact location for you when I get to the library again. They moved ALL the burials from there. There is no trace of the cemetery now. Its all covered over with cement and houses now.
Also, Jacob's first wife, Mary Baker, has a marker which sits to the left of this marker and that is where her body was buried. We included her on this marker because we wanted to.
