SAGINAW WEEKLY ENTERPRISE Thursday, September 19, 1861 (3 COL. 1)

Name: WRIGHT, MARY A.
Date of Death: 00 / 00 / 1861

Oakwood Cemetery was not open for burials until 1868. Thus, Mary's mom Mary Baker Wright, and her brother (name unknown) were buried in a cemetery on the west side, south of Court Street. All of the burials from this cemetery were moved to Oakwood cemetery. There is no trace of the cemetery now; it is covered with dirt and cement and houses.

Oakwood Cemetery told me that their records indicate that 12-3-1869 - removal Marker "Mary" means that Mary and her marker and the two children were moved to Lot 49, Section 21. This child, Mary A. and another child (name unknown) were moved with Mary to Oakwood Cemetery.

The Wright family decided to put ALL of the names of Jacob Wright's family on this marker even though no marker existed for the child Mary A. or the other child, name unknown.
