MRS. JOHNSON SERVICES TODAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Ellen Johnson, 84, 1022 Reed Street, were held this afternoon in the Nelson-Boylan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Loren Works officiating.

Burial followed in Essex Cemetery in Essex. Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, December 14 at Highland Acres after an extended illness.

She was born September 5, 1888 in Virginia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Link. She moved to Mount Ayr in 1912, then from Mount Ayr to Essex and moved from Essex to Red Oak in 1946.

She married Carl Gus Johnson, who died in 1929. In 1943 she married Aaron P. Johnson in Maryville, Missouri. He died in 1963.

Mrs. Johnson was a former member of Fremont Lutheran Church at Nyman. Memorial are suggested to the First Christian Church Church Choir.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William H. Martin of Red Oak; two sons, Carl of Omaha and Chester of Essex; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
