He was born in Pine City, Minnesota, June 11, 1884, Charles Alburn Stauty and Caroline Marie "Carrie" (Pearson) Stauty. He settled in Arkansaw, Wisconsin in 1947 after retiring from 38 years of service with the Duluth Western Steam Railroad, where he served as Foreman in 1940.
He first married Hella Paulson, who died in 1944. After her death, he married Ruby Rebecca (Stolquist) Ogden on Dec 27, 1947. Ruby had two children, Gwendoyln and George Ogden, from her previous marriage to Cyrus Bertram Ogden.
Survivors: his wife; one son, Vern of Virginia, Minnesota; four daughters, Gladys (Archie) Pajunen of Page, Arizona; Edna (John) Nelson of Mankato; Vivian (Leroy) Terrio of Mountain Iron, Minnesota; and Lola (Albert) Heikkilaia; one stepson, George Ogden of Longview, Washington; one stepdaughter, Gwen (Robert) Black of Duluth, MN; grandchildren; one brother, Howard Lee of East Chicago, IL; and four sisters, Mrs. Hattie May (Bernard Andrew) Harguth of Medford, Minnesota; Mrs. Myrtie M. (Fred Lyle) Mattson of East Chicago; Mrs. Lillian Jeanette (Emory Merton) Shigley of St. Paul, MN (who died two days after Oscar); and Mrs. Gertrude Leone (Henry) Hamer of Cedar Rapids Iowa.
He was predeceased by brothers, Alburn Allen Stauty, William Cyrus Stauty, Walter Cyril Stauty, and Frederick George Stauty, and sisters, Clarissa Marie White and Pearl Elizabeth Stauty, who died just shy of the young age of 15.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 am on Saturday at Goodrich Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Cauvin of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Friends were invited to call at the funeral home on Friday afternoon and evening and on Saturday. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery.
