Being born in Anderson County, South Carolina, George Ceborn Griffin was the son of the late Isaac and Margaret Ellison Griffin and was a retired farmer and carpenter. He lived in the George's Creek Section of Pickens County, South Carolina for 45 years.
His first wife was Maude L. King who died many years ago. Surviving from this marriage are one son, Lenhardt King Griffin fron Newark, New Jersey; two daughters, Mrs. Earnestine Gaston from Lakehurst, Florida and Mrs. Mary Ellen Fix from Easley, South Carolina.
His surviving wife is May Holcombe Griffin and surviving from this marriage are two sons, Ben Ceborn Griffin and Joel Newton Griffin; two daughters, Mrs. Mattie Lou Carson and Mrs. Margaret Padan all from Easley, South Carolina.
His surviving siblings are two brothers, Ben F. Griffin from Atlanta, Georgia and Lafayette "Fate" Griffin from Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Allison and Mrs. Janie Styles both from Greenville, South Carolina; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services were held at George's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday at 11 A.M.
