Verda "Ruth" Rohr, 83, Ellsworth, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, in Ellsworth.

She was born Oct. 30, 1928, in Victoria to Celestin and Ottilia (Goetz) Brown.

She married Victor P. Rohr on March 2, 1946, in Victoria.

She was a homemaker. She was member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, both of Ellsworth. She was an avid bowler and scorekeeper.

Survivors include her husband; six sons, Clyde, Hill City, Clifford and wife, Deb, Bogue, Darrell and wife, Jane, Hanover, Wayne and wife, Lisa, Manhattan, Calvin and wife, Christy, and Melvin, all of Ellsworth; three daughters, Carolyn Schoenberger and husband, Martin, and Charlotte Desair and husband, Gene, all of WaKeeney, and Virginia Boots and husband, Bill, Kanopolis; five sisters, Frances Knoll, Lakewood, Colo., Carol Keith, Morland, Vera Kuhn, Hays, Janie Tholen, Victoria, and Kathy Striggow, Hill City; 51 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary, and a grandson, Brian Schoenberger.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Ellsworth. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church. A vigil will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the church or VFW Auxiliary, in care of the funeral home.
