A longtime area resident, she was a homemaker. She was a daughter of Celestine and Otillia (Goetz) Brown. She married Bernard Keith on August 24, 1957, in St. Peter, Kansas. He died on September 3, 2011. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons: Jeffrey John Keith, Penokee, Kansas, and Jan Keith, Otis, Kansas; a daughter, Bonnie Knoll, Morland, Kansas; four sisters: Frances Knoll, Lakewood, Colorado; Vera Kuhn, Bison, Kansas; Janie Tholen, Victoria, Kansas; and Kathy Striggow, Hill City, Kansas; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Carol Keith were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2012, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hill City, Kansas. Officiating was Rev. Henry Saw Lone. A private burial is being planned for a later date at the Leland Cemetery in rural Penokee, Kansas. A Vigil was held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City, Kansas. Visitation was held on Thursday, July 26, 2012, from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Stinemetz Funeral Home, 522 North Pomeroy Avenue, Hill City. Memorials were suggested to the Carol Keith Memorial, and arrangements were by Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City.
