Alvis Elgie Kinser was the first-born of Rev. James Albert Kinser and Donna Callie Moore. She was born in Godley (Johnson County), Texas. Her siblings are sisters, Marie, Euceba Farris and Margaret Lou. Her brother is Albert Foster Kinser.
The Kinser sisters were a unique quartet, staying close and caring all their lives. Elgie was the first to be called home to her Lord.
She married Dillard Milo Pace on December 23, 1923 in Abilene, Texas. They were together in marriage and business ventures, which included retail grocery, wholesale meat company and ranching. Elgie and Dill had two children, Jim and Joy Pace, who they loved dearly.

SWEETWATER- ELGIE KINSER PACE, 84, died Thursday in San Angelo. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles McLaughlin officiating.
Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, directed by Cate-Spencer & Gallagher Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pace was born in Cleburne, had been a resident of Sweetwater since 1925 and was one of the pioneering families of Sweetwater.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Golden Chords Choir, Keenagers, Southwest Cattlemens Association and the Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include a son, Dr. James R. Pace of Sweetwater, Joy (Mrs. Bill) Pace Morehead of San Angelo; three sisters, Marie Humphrey of Bastrop, Farris Conley of New Braunfels and Margaret Rutledge of Abilene: seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
