IN A DISCUSSION WITH COUSIN JOY ABOUT ELGIE I ASKED THE FOLLOWING QUESTION: JOY I DIDN'T KNOW ELGIE WENT WITH HER PASTOR FATHER TO SERVICES. I KNEW ELGIE PLAYED THE PIANO. DIDN'T YOU HAVE A PIANO WHEN YOU LIVED ON SILAS IN SWEETWATER? HER ANSWER WAS YES SHE DID GO TO HIS SERVICES AND LED THE MUSIC. Yes, we did always HAVE A PIANO IN OUR HOME. Mother played the piano in the Junior Department at the church probably for 40 or more years. She could really belt out those wonderful Baptist hymns.
