Dutch enjoyed playing cards and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was the Chief of Police in Heyworth, Illinois, and served on the town board. After retiring from Bloomington-Normal Water Reclamation District, Dutch and Judy relocated to Branson, Missouri. Dutch then managed the Branson Mall where he met & made many friends. He loved the Branson shows and most of all his dear friend Mickey Gilley. Dutch was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and five sisters.
Dutch is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Ronda Shannon of Branson; granddaughter Traci (Kevin) Kruse of Groveland, Illinois; two great-grandchildren, Briley and Kaden; sister Pat Girdler and a dear sister-in-law, Betty Shannon.
A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016, at The Upper Deck Grille, 4740 Gretna Road, Branson, Missouri. Memorial contributions in memory of Dutch may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital as well as the Taney County Ambulance District. Arrangements are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
